Kontentra was born from real-world experience at one of the largest travel metasearch platforms in the world. Our founder spent years at Trivago in Düsseldorf, managing the image tagging and annotation project that created training data for AI and ML models — specifically hotel image classification, room type detection, and amenity recognition.
Managing outsourced annotation teams and building data pipelines from the inside revealed a gap: most annotation providers lack the domain expertise to truly understand what travel and hospitality platforms need. Generic annotation services produce generic results.
That's why we founded Kontentra in 2026. We combine hands-on domain knowledge with technical expertise in IoT, software engineering, and web development to offer services that go beyond a label on an image — we understand the business context behind every annotation.
